Waiting for supplies. The agony!

So one of the most awful and agonizing things to do in soapmaking (besides having to wait from 4-6 weeks for the soap to cure before it’s “usable”) is having to wait for supplies to be delivered to you.

Waiting………..

Yes, I know………on my previous post, I said that you can make soap out of three ingredients (one ingredient being water).  BUT remember, I used an old antique dresser drawer as a soap mold. I don’t want to keep using it because it’s a little too wide and I don’t want that to be my standard size of soap. Plus, there are so MANY beautiful and amazing and incredible oils that can be added to the soap recipe that will yield a more luxurious bar of soap.  And who doesn’t want that??  Sign me up for luxury and pampering please.

Also, there are colorants and other additives that can be added to bring interest and even more beauty to soap.

Beautifully colored soap

So of course, I’m going to want all the supplies and oils I can get my hands on.

With all that being said, I received one small order I placed for fragrance and essential oils. Not sure why I chose what I did because there was no rhyme or reason to it. I should have made a plan. And now I’m waiting for a second order that has oils and clay and dried flowers (to make pretty tops) and a soap mold. I would LOVE to buy soooooooo many things and in huge bulk but alas, soapmaking supplies can get pricey and at this point I’m still learning. I’m researching recipes, deciding on how I want to package my soap and watching as many videos that I can of people that have been making soap for years.

Gorgeous!
